CHANGING THE CONVERSATION OF MENTAL HEALTH AMONGST FANS

The FA and Heads Together partnered to change the conversation on mental health amongst football fans. FUSE conceived and executed the campaign across the 19/20 season

Challenge

Suicide is the biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK, and whilst progress has been made there was still a stigma attached to mental health.

Solution

Spearheaded by HRH The Duke of Cambridge, The FA launched ‘Heads Up’ – using key moments in the 2019/20 football season to launch the biggest ever conversation on mental health.

Outcome

From raising awareness to driving meaningful action from football fans across the UK, the campaign brought mental health to the forefront of fans minds throughout the football season.

Key Highlights

The FA Cup Final was renamed ‘The Heads Up FA Cup Final’ and fans were encouraged to create their own ‘Mind Plan’ across FA Cup Third Round weekend. The ’Sound of Support’ content series brought together sports stars and celebrities together to talk about their mental health.
