ACTION: Showcasing Klarna’s support for UK small businesses

Klarna tasked us with securing a partnership that would showcase the brand’s support for small businesses in the UK, while also engaging with its core users, 18-35 year olds.

CREATE: Launching Smoooth Stores in partnership with Millie & Hugo

We negotiated two six-month partnerships with reality TV couple Millie Mackintosh and Hugo Taylor that saw them go head-to-head in a battle to find the next big fashion or accessory brand in a campaign named Smoooth Stores.

The pair invited young brands with a retail presence to enter their search. Entries were judged and Millie and Hugo each chose their favourite brands from the top scorers and became their champion in the search. The couple visited their chosen retailers to learn more about the business, their inspirations and the challenges they face.

The visits were captured and turned into a four-part mini-series shared across social media, press and Klarna’s website. After all the episodes aired, viewers were invited to vote for their favourite. The winner received £10,000, a mentoring scheme from top Klarna execs and one year’s free use of Klarna’s Pay Later service on their site.

After the winners were announced, we hosted a launch event and wrap party with influencers, media representatives, celebrities and brands in attendance.
