In a timeframe of only 3 months, Fuse successfully managed the sponsorship, activation, and PR for the landmark multi-year partnership between Vodafone and Glastonbury Festival, establishing Vodafone's role as the Official Connectivity Partner. Seeking to create a meaningful impact on festival goers, Vodafone expedited the development and launch of the Official Glastonbury app. This resource, available to all festival attendees, served as a crucial tool for planning their festival experience. It also provided Vodafone with a strategic platform to showcase their brand purpose and actively engage with their audience.
Challenge
Create the ultimate companion app for Glastonbury Festival in less than 4 months and build a bespoke sync process to import over 3,000 performers across 100 stages into the app in real time.
Solution
Working within incredibly tight time constraints, we used a framework provider to enable rapid app build and development, ensuring the core functionality of the app was delivered above all else. For the first time Worthy FM, the Festival’s radio station, was integrated into the app and contributed to a spike in listeners over their peak broadcast dates. Promotion of the app was secured through partner channels (The Guardian, National Express and Official Glastonbury Programme) reaching over 185K festival attendees.
Outcome
A resounding success with 40,0000 festival goer interactions. The retail store saw nearly 400 total sales and successfully engaged teams within the Retail arm of the business. And as part of an Everyone.Connected CSR pledge, Vodafone matched battery pack sales and distributed 10,280 pre-loaded SIMs to communities in need in the South West.
